Processor Cost

Samsung used the industry’s new Exynos 9820 @ 8 nm instead of Exynos 9810 @ 10 nm. The former processor (Exynos 9810 @ 10 nm) is seen on Galaxy S9+, and its die size is about 122 mm2. The S10 5G comes with Exynos 9820 @ 8 nm, the industry’s cutting-edge processor with a die size of 124 mm2. This Galaxy S10 5G processor costs $10 less than the one on S9+.

RAM Cost

On the other hand, the display cost increased by about $9 because S10 5G comes in a bigger size. There is now a punch hole instead of top-notch, and it is an edge-to-edge display design. Coming to the memory pricing, the cost of memory chips dropped drastically, and as a result, Samsung added a 128GB storage chip on the Galaxy S10 5G instead of 64GB. Also, the RAM was increased by 8GB (LPDDR4X) at no additional cost increase. Even users of this device will get an extra 128GB microSD card out of the box as a freebie package. All these components are still under $12 added to their Supporting Material costs.
