YouTube will stream 15 MLB Games at 1080p resolution in 2022 Season

Major League Baseball said in an announcement made on Thursday that “YouTube, as well as Major League Baseball on Thursday, announced that they would renew their long-running, fan-favorite relationship along with the launch to MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube, which will feature 15 games during the 2022 season that will be streamed live, at no cost to fans all over the globe in 182 countries. The current year’s MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube debuts the 5th of May at 3:110 p.m. ET and will feature The Washington Nationals facing off against the Colorado Rockies.”

MLB Games at 1080p resolution on YouTube

YouTube streams MLB games with higher resolution. According to CNET confirmed through Google that games will stream at 1080p at 60fps, as opposed to the previous 720p 30fps limit imposed on the last season’s games. Like the previous season, MLB broadcasts on YouTube will feature conversations with “MLB Superfan YouTube creators” and streaming via YouTube TV. The platform will allow games will have real-time statistics and the option to replay essential matches.

Beginning on May 5, 2022, YouTube streams 15 matches as an element of their “MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube” series 2022. The games are available via traditional YouTube search results and MLB’s YouTube channel.
