We know about Google that the company won’t stop acquiring new startups and businesses that seem promising. In the previous year, 2020, Google announced that it had plans to acquire Fitbit, a fitness company that manufactures consumer electronics products and fitness gears. The acquisition deal was completed in January 2021, which had Google spend $2.1 billion.

Well, what must have triggered Google to acquire Fitbit is the company’s stats. Fitbit reportedly has about 29 million active users; Google’s acquisition of Fitbit is based on an agreement that Fitbit users’ data won’t be used to show them targeted ads. The Acquisition deal and reports can be read on Google’s Product blog.

Now that Fitbit is officially part of Google, the tech giant has added a few Fitbit bands to its official store, where people from around the world can purchase them. Previously, when you select the Fitbit products on Google store, they redirect you to Fitbit’s website, but now, you can buy them directly from Google – no redirections anymore.

However, Google hasn’t listed many Fitbit products; it’s just a few listed products on the store. The Fitbit products available on Google’s official store include Versa 3, Sense, Inspire 2, and Charge 4 smartwatches/bands. Versa 3 and Sense already integrate Google technology and would ship with Google Assistant out of the box.

Do all Fitbit products are available in Google Store?

Well, Google doesn’t seem like it’d sell older Fitbit products on its store as all the listed products are newer bands/smartwatches from Fitbit.

As it stands at the moment, there’s no news that Google will monopolize Fitbit sales, and there’s no discount for purchasing the products directly from the Google store. All Fitbit bands are still listed on Amazon at slightly lower prices, including those you won’t find on the Google store.

Now that Fitbit has secured a spot in the Google store, just as Google Stadia and Pixel brands, we hope that more products would be listed soon. However, the products may integrate a couple of Google services to improve usability and flexibility.

The Fitbit Sense on Google store is available in “Carbon/Graphite” and “White/Soft Gold” colors, while Versa 3 is available in “Black” and “Pink Clay/Soft Gold” colors; the “Midnight/Soft Gold” variant of Versa 3 isn’t on the Google store.
