Netflix added Exynos 2200 chipset to its HD support list

Updated On: August 19, 2025 by Selva Ganesh Leave a Comment

To avoid copyright and other unofficial things, Streaming platforms have their unique measurements, and the mobiles have to be compatible with them. When the mobile can’t get a certified version or does not fall under the streaming platform conditions, then you can’t watch your favorite shows on your mobile. A worse scenario is when you have a subscription and can’t manage the content. Also, They provide support up to 4K HDR, and when you want to watch those contents, you need additional requirements. Currently, Netflix added Exynos 2200 chipset to its HD support list. It means the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 is already certified with Netflix support.

Each now and then, Netflix changes its strategy and then announces that it will work with a new gadget before it’s been officially made public. This is the kind of scenario we’re in at the present moment as we watch Netflix making preparations to work with Samsung’s new Galaxy S22 series.

Netflix Esynos 2200 Support List Official

We observe that Netflix has changed the list of processors compatible with HD streams, including the Exynos 2100 and 2200 (alongside some Unisoc chips we’re not worried about). While 2100 is the older silicon found in several phones from the international Galaxy S21 phones, 2200 is Samsung’s newly announced chipset which will most likely make its way in Galaxy S22 models. Netflix doesn’t mention the S22 here specifically.

Why didn’t Netflix add Exynos 2200 to the HDR list?

4K or HDR support depends on other display quality and other requirements. Exynos 2200 can be used in any mobile, and the mobile manufacturers may only give regular FHD+ screens. So, Based on the mobile specs and display, Netflix will add the S22 to their HDR support list.

There was never a real possibility that Netflix could not support a smartphone similar to Samsung’s upcoming flagship. So this information is more academic than anything else. We’re eagerly waiting for the moment about the fact that Unpacked is less than one week away as of now and are eager to see the brand new Galaxy handsets arrive.

Wrap Up

Listing the processor may not look like a big deal. But, It promises Samsung will release its Samsung Galaxy S22 with Exynos 2200 in some countries. Exynos 2200 has high GPU computing power. We can expect better stream play from Netflix on S22 mobiles based on the display Samsung will use. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 and Exynos 2200 processor mobiles?
