Gasket Games and Ellen Digital Venture released The Heads Up game. It is a U.S. publisher that invented the game. The game was made into an app in May 2013, which quickly rose to the top of Apple’s App Store. It has been downloaded more than 70,000,000 times and has over 40 million users. The Ellen DeGeneres Show was the first to play the game, with DeGeneres holding physical cards.

Nine years later, Netflix has added its version to its games catalog. Less than 1% of its 221 million subscribers are interested in Netflix’s games. Apptopia revealed recently that Netflix games were downloaded 23.3 million times.

Heads Up! Although it might not be a new face, it is easily recognizable. Ellen Digital Venture and Gasket Games developed this game. It has been featured prominently on Ellen. It has amassed more than 70 million global downloads. As per the stats, It is an Apple’s most downloaded app in the App Store for five consecutive years. The app is $1.99 and can be downloaded via the Google Play Store.

Netflix launched its gaming platform in November 2021. It has added new games every month to its catalog. The titles are currently free to download and do not require in-app purchases. The company views games as a way to grow and maintain its existing subscriber base. Since Netflix recently lost almost one million subscribers, it’s easy to see why they want to invest more in games.

Netflix subscribers can play the game with 28 decks that are inspired by popular Netflix series like ā€œBridgeton,ā€ ā€œStranger Things,ā€ ā€œSquid Game,ā€ etc. You can also share your matches with family and friends on Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp.

An iOS or Android smartphone user can select any game they wish to download from a dedicated games row. Subscribers to an Android or iOS tablet can see a dedicated games row or choose games from the categories dropdown menu to download and enjoy.

How to Play Heads Up on Netflix?

Logging into your Netflix account from your mobile device will allow you to access the game. Members with Android or iOS mobile phones will be able to access a dedicated games row tab and where they can choose any game to download.

All iOS and Android Netflix subscribers worldwide can download the game in 15 languages, including English, French, and German.

While other competitors like Amazon offer users Games along with Prime subscriptions. If Netflix is sticking only with the videos, In the long run, The subscription is not worth it. Netflix is already forcing users to user pay more for password-sharing features. But they plan to roll out an Ad-Supported plan, affordable for regular users who rarely see the contents.
