Affordable OnePlus 9R will be a Gaming Focus Phone with Triggers

After the OnePlus 7 Series, We know, OnePlus is not a budget flagship mobile anymore. Oneplus entered the market at an affordable price with the flagship-level processor. But they are slowly moving towards the Premium category at both specs and price. So, To get a mid-range audience, they released the OnePlus Nord series. As predicted, they got good sales. Now in the OnePlus 9 series, The Ultimate Pro version will be a costly phone. The OnePlus plans to release the affordable OnePlus 9R as a gaming-focused phone with attachable triggers.

About OnePlus 9R

OnePlus CEO announced that the brand is working on a budget-friendly, gaming-focused OnePlus 9R. It will be a 5G device and include almost all the features on the official OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro versions. However, this device is being developed for people living in India and may not be available outside of the country. Announced as a gaming-focused device, we hope to see a low-budget device with impressive graphics and chipset. OnePlus CEO confirmed the coming of the OnePlus 9R in News18’s interview with Lau Pete, CEO of OnePlus.

OnePlus joined the league of mid-range smartphone manufacturers in the second-half of 2020 with the launch of OnePlus Nord. It did launch a couple more mid-range devices after Nord, and now it’s stepping up the game to launching a “flagship killer.”

Apparently, OnePlus had always been interested in making gaming smartphones, from introducing Fnatic gaming mode — now Pro Gaming Mode — to launching a smartphone entirely built for mobile gaming. They announced about the mobile in their official tweet.

Lau Pete Statement about OnePlus 9R

According to Lau Pete, in the interview with News 18, he said, With the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro launch, They planned to release the OnePlus 9R in India at an affordable price. Other than the processor, The mobile can give a flagship-level experience. Along with these mobiles launch, They are also planning to launch the first-ever wearable products OnePlus Watch. The event will happen on March 23, 2021.

This OnePlus 9 variant is will be exclusive to India and would support the “latest technologies” for mobile gaming:

Most of the users begin to focus on mobile games. Also, They request respective features in the OS. That’s why they are planning to release the OnePlus 9R with the latest specs and OS. It will have a smooth display experience, exclusive gaming controls, and a perfect view experience in-game focus. There is no indication of using AMOLED displays. They may or may not use AMOLED displays. But with a 90Hz refresh rate, It is better if they used AMOLEDs.

Specs

OnePlus 9R is expected to launch with Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 processor, a 90Hz display, 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage, and a 5,000mAh. These are rumored specs and may not be the exact specifications we’d see on the OnePlus 9R when it finally launches on March 23.

The features should be the same as the other variants in the OnePlus 9 series, and as for the price, no one has a clue of what it would be.
