What is a VPN?

A VPN, Virtual Private Network, provides you a secure connection to another network over the internet. It is also used to open region-restricted websites and to shield your data while using public Wi-Fi networks. A VPN network secures your data through an encrypted connection that is called a tunnel. The data travels from your network to another network through this secure tunnel that hides your data from hackers. That ensures safety and security.

VPN Working

While you use the VPN, your IP address is changed, and all your network activities are encrypted so that your activities cannot be tracked. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) can know that you are using a VPN, but they cannot know your activity or track your internet traffic. There are lots of free unlimited VPNs are available for Android.

Limitations

Unfortunately, you cannot select the country for using this VPN service like the regular VPN services available on the net. Google will launch this VPN service in the USA in the coming week through Google One Drive.

This VPN service is also limited to Android users only; iOS, Windows, and Mac users can enjoy this service in the coming months.

Wrap Up

Security is important to factor in any platform. From Google RCS Messages to Google Chrome browser, Google thoughtfully considers security. Secure DNS is available in Google Chrome 85. But VPN is more secure compare with using DNS for search queries. The VPN service for Google One 2 TB subscribers seems a revenue-generating tactic from Google. In fact, most of the VPN users use the VPN to surf region-restricted websites, and obviously, those users do not belong to the USA. Anyhow it will be good for the USA subscribers to surf the net while securing their details. Do tell us your views if you get your hands on this Google One VPN service.
