MediaTek has revealed its Dimensity 8200 SoC designed for high-end 5G smartphones. The chipset delivers a flagship-quality experience at a lower price. It’s the successor to the dimensity 8100 processor that powers a variety of high-end devices that go beyond $400 phones.

This chip runs on the Imagiq 785 ISP, which allows it to support images of 320 megapixels and record original 14-bit HDR video with three cameras at once. It comes with a full-featured 5G modem that includes the most recent 3GPP release-16 technology and 3CC carrier aggregation, which can enhance the sub-6 GHz speed.

Network

For network processes, it is a network device. Dimensity 8200 integrates a 5G modem, allowing 5G Sub-6GHz full-band networks and tri-carrier aggregate. Furthermore to that, it supports tri-carrier aggregation. Dimensity 8200 also supports Wi-Fi 6E, which offers higher speeds for network transmission and 2×2 antennas to provide better performance and more reliable wireless network connectivity.

AI Support

MediaTek AI processor APU 580 is designed with an energy-efficient design, delivering the most potent AI computing power while cutting down on the power consumption of AI applications. It also supports new AI apps and functions like cameras and multimedia and provides new AI experiences.
