After Qualcomm released its Mid-Range 5G series chipsets, Redmi launched its First Mid-Range 5G phone K30 series under $300. The Specs are mostly the same between the two devices, including dual punch hole Display. But, The Realme phone designs are great compare with the Redmi Phones. The X50 price starts from $360 for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM variants, which is also approximately the same with the Redmi options. In India, the price range may reduce further. When Realme launched the new X50 5G Series?
Back in December 2019, they planned to announce the Mid-range 5G versions. They waited for the Qualcomm new 865 and 765 series announcement. After the official event, Realme announced the new X50 5G series on January 7, 2019. The launch event is exclusive for this version. There are no other variants published with this mobile. Unlike Redmi K30, Realme launched this X50 series only with the 5G variant mobiles. The Specs are moreover the same between both mobiles.

- Android 10 based Realme OS. They provide exclusive realme OS. They Don’t include the regular Color OS. The UI believes that it will be near the Stock Android Experience. But, It is like Color OS 7. They recently planned to show Ads in All Realme phones.
When making cost-effective phones, there should be some compromises. Realme launched the X50 series with the LCD Display. When we think why LCD, they compromise us with the 120Hz Screen that looks like Samsung S10 Plus like notch for dual front camera setup. If they added AMOLED Display with this refresh rate, Thr price could go further. Realme LCD Displays are not bad. They are better to compare with some poor LED Displays. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Support. There are no details about the display that supports HDR10, which is best when gaming and watching movies. Redmi K30 supports HDR10. So, With a 6.67 inch 120Hz Refresh rate, If you play supporting games, the experience will be great.
5G version comes with a 765G processor. If you don’t know about the new 765G processor, Qualcomm announced Flagship processor 865 and Mid-Range variant 765 in the December 2019 event. They also announced a 765G processor, Which can perform 20% better GPU compare with the regular version. There are a lot of features that are added to the 765G processor. I will mention some essential features. So, We can clearly understand that the Realme goes as much as possible in specs. Because it has a better GPU than regular 765. It will help you when Gaming.

RAM and ROM Variants
Realme always fixes the price based on the RAM and ROM capacity. They will start from the basic version to High-End capacity. X50 price varies depending on the RAM and ROM Capacity. Internal memory works with UFS 2.1, not 3.0.

Before going to this, I already covered the Smartphone Camera Terms. If you know what they are, It will be beneficial to understand the camera specs. Both versions have the same camera setup. They come with Quad Camera Setup in Rear and Dual Camera setup in front.
In Rear, Main Camera With Wide Angle Support- 64MP with f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.7″, 0.8µm, PDAF. Additional to this 8MP f/2.3 (Ultra Wide), 12MP f/3.0 (Tele Photo), and 2MP f/2.4 (Macro shots) are other cameras. Front Camera comes with a 16MP (Main)+8MP (Ultra Wide) setup. You can select the 64MP photo option from the Camera app. In Default, most of the Realme phones have 24MP. The Main rear camera supports 20X Hybrid-Zoom.
In terms of videos, Camera can support 4K videos at 30FPS, 1080P at 60FPS. If you use Ultra Wide camera, you can shoot 1080P at 30 FPS. You can take slow-motion videos 1080p at 120 FPS and 720P at 960 FPS.
- It comes with the 4200 mAh Battery.
- 30W Fast Charging (VOOC Flash Charge 4.0).
- NFC- Added Multi-Function support.
- Finger Print sensor added in the side frame. My guess is there may be some issues in adding in the Display fingerprint sensor with 120Hz Screen. So, they decided to put the sensor inside. It is still better than the Rear fingerprint sensor. You can access the sensor without lifting the phone from the table, which comes handy in most of the situations.
- Bluetooth 5.0.
- Ports- USB Type-C and 3.5mm Headphone Jack.
In Tech, everything gets the value based on the price. Realme is always making cost-effective phones like Xiaomi.
- CNY 2499($360, INR 25,790)- 8GB +128GB (Base version)
- CNY 2999($432, INR 30,950)- 12GB +256GB (High Memory)

Both mobiles have 64 MP as the primary camera. If you didn’t know, Camera MP doesn’t matter for better quality images. Both mobiles have Ultrawide, Telephoto, and Macro cameras. In terms of the quality of pictures, both have the same results. I will give the Camera Specs of both mobiles for verification. The Price range varies from $10-20 based on the variants. The Minimum 5G Entrance may not come to your country until 2020. If you are in other regions, It may take a long time. But, If you buy a phone, you will use that for at least 2-3 Years. These mobiles are the Upper Mid-Range category. So, they can survive this much duration. But, Redmi variants start from $284 (6+64 GB). When we compare the specs, the Same 8+128 GB Variant in Realme is $360, Where Redmi K30 5G 8+128GB Variant is $369. So, the price range varies only $10(Approx).
Which one should you choose?
If you utilize the HDR 10, You can buy Redmi K30 5G version. Other than this specification, Both devices look the same. But, the Realme Design seems premium. If you want regular updates, you can choose Realme X50 5G. In the wide price range, Redmi phones start from $284, Where the start price of Realme is $360. 6 GB RAM is more than enough for regular users. When all manufacturers Released their 5G Phones with the price tag above $1000, Most of the people are not willing to spend this much for the tech, which is not going to use by them for a specific period. Integrated 5G in the Mid-range phones is an excellent move from Qualcomm. Compare with other manufacturers, Xiaomi and Realme can provide low-cost mobile phones with the same processor. Because they always Top client for most of the Smartphone internal parts manufacturer. They get a low price because of High-Volume Consumption.
When Realme announced this X50 5G base version with the price tag of $360, which is near $300, It looks like everyone can use 5G version mobiles at a reasonable price. Price should not be a barrier to experience the tech. Realme did a great job. What are your thoughts? Can Realme X50 better than the Redmi K30 be your first 5G Phone? Comment Below.
